Al & Duncan -late 1960's

The earliest photo I have of Al - sent by Duncan, a colleague, friend & fellow apprentice draftsman with the Ordnance Survey in Southampton. Late teens or possibly early 20's. A number of Al's OS colleagues still meet for an annual reunion so it was wonderful to meet up with them in the Spring of 2017 and hear of early training & exploits. All the detailed drafting involved in creating a map before the days of computers probably did much to help Al hone his navigation skills in years to come!
